ITALIAN WINE DINNER

Roberto Cremonese of Conte Vistarino will be joining us for another wonderful wine-filled evening at The Fox & Hounds, Barley. 

Delicious dishes perfectly paired with a range of Conte Vistarino wines. The winery is best known for its award-winning Pinot Noir in Oltrepò Pavese, Italy. 

Chef patron, Brett Barnes, will be preparing a 5-course bespoke menu to compliment the incredible wines from this wonderful estate. 

The evening includes a welcome drink, 5-course tasting menu & paired wines.

Arrival drink: Brut Rosé, Vino spumante Brut Pinot Nero rosé Metodo Charmat

1st Course:

Sea bream carpaccio, blood orange & fennel

Fennel, blood orange & samphire salad (vegetarian option)

Wine pairing: Merlino, Oltrepò Pavese Pinot Grigio DOC


2nd Course:

Burrata, poached nespole, almonds & agretti (v)

Wine pairing: Maria Novella, Oltrepò Pavese Pinot Nero rosé


3rd Course:

Hand-rolled pappardelle, rabbit ragu & gremolata

Hand rolled pappardelle “puttanesca” & gremolata  (vegetarian option)

Wine pairing: Costa del Nero, Rocca de' Giorgi. Pinot Nero


4th Course:

Slow-cooked beef shin, polenta, bone marrow pangratatto

Wild mushroom ragu, polenta, thyme pangratatto (vegetarian option)

Wine pairing: Buttafuoco, Buttafuoco dell’Oltrepò Pavese


5th Course:

Vanilla panna cotta, Essex raspberries, Costiolo jelly (v)

Wine pairing: Costiolo, Sangue di Giuda dell'Oltrepò Pavese frizzante
